I have learned how big a deal is that so many people in Africa have Aids. It is pretty big deal because half of the world population of Aods is in Africa so that is a lot of people. So many people die in Africa doe everyday due to Aids becasue the treatment for it is very expesive.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
Yes because Adis is not going to go away it is always going to be there, when scinentis do find a cure many people wouldnt beable to get to it. Also many people are going to get it because in the furture there is going to be more people so that means more people with Aods so it will never go away.
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
Lots of things about video things and better typing.I think this class is a very good class and that I am glad that you are teaching this class the year I am here!

I have leanrned about storybords and sceen shots all kinds of things I have never heard of,that you can not just do it alone, and well now i know more about film making.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
Well that if your talking about our topic in the video then well i have learned a little.About the Humane Society.Like the more people that go there and help the more likely that the animals will be friendly. Also if you go there it is a great experence to go and help the animals and when you take them out or take care of them how happy they are.

1. What have you learned so far in this class? So far in this class I have been able to type faster with microtype. I have also been learning how to act and direct movies. While doin that me and my group are doing a project on wildfires. I have learned many things about them, now that I am doing a report on them.
2. What have you learned about film-making? What I have learned about film making is how to act and not laughing while you are acting. Me and my group are doing a report on wildfires in Michigan and I have learned many thing about them, how they start, and how many happen each year.
3. What have you learned about your topic? What I have learned about my topic is how many wildfires occur each year in Michigan, how they start, what is going on to prevent them, and what we do that starts them that we dont really know starts them.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? I think the things I am learning now will have a long-lasting effect on me because some of the things that are going on with the wildfires is serious and we are trying to prevent them from happening.
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
I have learned so far in this so far, is how to make a movie of course. When we were starting to make a movie we brainstormed ideas and we decieded to do iraq.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
I have learned film making isn't just about the actors or directors it's about producers and screenwriters.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
I have learned about my topic in iraq, that 72% of the troops want out in less than a year. That all of are tax money is mostly going to iraq.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
I think what i'm learning will have a long-lasting effect on me because learning about how our troops in iraq are wanting home that really maens alot. Which also knowing about your war in the present really helps when this time would be part of history.
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
In this class I have learend so far how to type and film movies. When I say how to type I mean that, this class teaches me how to type accuratly and faster. When I learned how to film in this class, it made everything easier. Making the script helped. These are some things I had learned how to do so far.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
I learned that its not that easy to make a film. Especially when you have to make up the script. After making the script everything else comes easy. It takes a lot of time to make a movie.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
I had learned that wildfires in Michigan are common, but no one really knows about it. I had learned that about 8000 to 10000 wildfires in Michigan happen every year. Also that we are not doing anything to stop it. Trains, cars, lighting and smoke can all start wildfires.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
I think it will have a long-lasting effect on me. I believe this because this subject can help you out a lot. For instance, when I grow up I might want to film movies, or have a job with typing involve, or I might even want to try stop wildfires. You never know when these things will come handy to you. That is why I try my hardest and have fun with it, that's why it will have a long-lasting effect on me.
1. What have you learned so far in this class? I have learnd how yo create my own little movie and i also learnd how to use the computer in diffrent ways then how i normally used it. I also learnd that technology is a huge thing in america.

1. What have you learned so far in this class?
So far in this class I have learned a lot of things about technology. One thing I have learned is how to use a digital video camera. I have also learned how to use Microsoft Publisher, and plenty of other computer programs that I have never used or even heard of! I have also learned that there is a lot more to computers than just e-mail and instant messaging, they are very useful tools, and knowing how to use one will help me in the long run.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
The main thing I have learned about film making is that it is a lot of hard work! Nothing can be done by one person alone, you have to have the whole group working together. If one group member blows it off, the rest of us have to work even harder to try to produce a film that is going to be equally great. It's hard work, but it's fun at the same time!
3. What have you learned about your topic?
Things I have learned about my topic, the Humane Society, are tthings such as how many animals are euthinized each year, how many are brought into the shelters, and what people can do to help. I found it very intersting that 6-8 million animals are brought to shelters every year and half of them are euthenized. I have also learned that there are plenty of things that we can do to help the animlas without having to adopt them. Even children can help! It's a very interesting topic and I have found a lot of good research.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
Yes, I do believe that what I am learning will have a long-lasting effect on me. For one thing I will now be able to use many new computer programs that I have never payed attention to before. I will also take what I now know about camera, and video making with me, which may help me in years to come.
1. What have you learned so far in this class? There are many things I have learned in this class. One is how to type better with less errors. Another is you have to sit up straight when you type and have proper form. The last thing I've learned is how to film a movie and certain shots to shoot from. Those are three things i have learned in this class.
2. What have you learned about film-making? I have learned a couple things about film making. One is to always shoot from the right angles. Another is to make sure the lighting from where your shooting isn't too dark. The last thing i've learned about film making is to show enough emotion as possible so that is really shows in your film. Those are three things i've learned about film making.
3. What have you learned about your topic? My topic is domestic violence. I have learned that there are many different types of domestic violence. I have also learned that 5.3 million women get abused over physical violence. The last thing i have learned is 22% of women in the united states have experienced physical assault. Those are three things i have learned about my topic.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? I do think that what im learning will have an effect on me. When i'm older, and if something like that happened to me, i would know to say something about it and not just let it happen. I also think that my typing skills will have a long-lasting effect on me because once I learn how to type proper,I could do it for a while. Another reason why i think that what im learning could have a long-lasting effect on me is that I would never want domestic violence to happen around me or to me so i wouldn't just sit around and watch it happen. That is why I think what I am learning will have a long-lasting effect on me.
1. What have you learned so far in this class? So far in this class, I've learned many things about technology. I've learned how to type with speed and accuracy. I've also learned how to make a good movie. For example, where you stand with the cammera, or how the lighting is. And most importantly how the actor responds to the part of the film. I am very grateful for this class and i enjoyed it.
2. What have you learned about film-making? What i learned about film making is that it takes a lot of time and patience. You have to know your angles of the camera, the lighting of where your location is, and how your actor reacts to their part in the film. But you also have to have a script, sound, and tension in your film. You must know how to grab your audiences attention so they are interesting in watching the rest of your film. But I know there is much more to learn.
3. What have you learned about your topic? What I learned about my topic is that there are many people in this world that aren't treated the right way. The abuse of women and children, is very critical and we need to stand up for what is right. If we let this go any further, many more people are going to be hurt emotionally and physically. This abuse needs to stop, and we're the only people who can stop it.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? I think what I'm learning will have a long-lasting effect on me because I'm thinking of becoming in artist when I'm older, and I need to know how to catch people's attention with my work. I also need to know how to create emotion and tension within my picture or movie. Plus it will help whenever I have to make a documentary or movie for a project that I have to do in the near future.
What have you learned so far in this class? I have learned about so many things. Such as different camera angles some of them are fade in,& side shot.another thing I learned about is how to make a storyboard for different scenes.
2. What have you learned about film-making? Some things I have learned about film making is how to film a movie. In fact the project were doing right now will help me alot with learning how to film properly. another thing i have learned is about the different jobs involved in creating a movie.
3. What have you learned about your topic? I have learned many things about my Topic on The war on Iraq such as the the amount of money it's costing the world. I'm also learning how it effects people at home. plus were learning how people are dying over there and how people can help.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? Yes I do beleive that what i am learning will have a long lasting effect on me. I think so because The War on Iraq is a very seriouse war that has been going on since 2003. I think after doing extensive research I learn more about what soldiers have to face in Iraq and also I want to learn how I can help.
1. What have you learned so far in this class? I have learned lots in this class. I have learned how to type more accuratly and faster without looking at the keyboard as much. Also i've learned the most in the film making field. I have learned how to make a storyboard, script, and different angles i can use when making a movie.
2. What have you learned about film-making? The things i have learned about film-making include writing a storyboard, how to act better, write a script and using different camera angles. I have also learned that film-making can be frustrating and hard sometimes because you don't want to mess up and everyone wants it to look as best as possible.
3. What have you learned about your topic? My topic, AIDS IN SOUTH AFRICA, has taught me a lot. I have learned facts about the epidemic in Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Botswana, and Mozabique. I have learned that over 2,000 people each day die of AIDS. Also at least 224,000 children have at least lost a parent to AIDS. Those are just some of the things I have learned about my subject.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? I don't really know because I do not know what i want to be when i get older. Though i believe what I learn on here can open my eyes to new things and interests when i go to collage for something. Some day I could end up as a film-maker and I can use what I learned from this class to help me.
1. What have you learned so far in this class?

2. What have you learned about film-making?
Things that I have learned so far about film-making are different angles and shots, and especially how hard it is to make a movie. The movies we are making, are 3-5 minutes long and we are having some trouble of thinking of what do put in our movie or how to use different angles. I wonder how much harder it is to shoot a 1-2 hour movie. Some other things I have also learned is that it takes a lot of time and effort to make one, you have to make sure you get the right idea and story out, you have to make sure that everything makes sense.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
Our topic is abuse on mainly women, but somethings about children too. I have learned that a lot of people go through horrible things by the person that "loves" them. I think it is very sad. Nobody needs to get abused in any way. I have learned that a lot of people go through this each and everyday. I am thankful for my loving and caring family. This is why we are making the movie, to make sure that everyone knows how lucky they are, and to make sure people know how serious abuse and domestic violence is.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
I do think that learning about domestic violence will have a long-lasting effect on me. I think this because now I know what some people are going through, and I know that I wouldn't want anybody I know to go through any of this. After making this movie, I think i will still give the message across to my friends and family that abuse is a horrible thing, and I hope that them or anybody else will have to go through with it.
1. What have you learned so far in this class? I have learned that i am getting much better at microtype. i am spelling bettter and i can type faster than i used to. I barely have any errors when I type. I know that i have definitley exceled in typeing on the computer well.
2. What have you learned about film-making? I have learned that you always have to listen to the "director." If you dont listen to the director you will most likly get kicked out of the movie makeing buissness. You cant just go out on your own and think you will make it. Also I have learned that film makeing is very hard and that you just have to keep going for it and never give up if that is your dream.
3. What have you learned about your topic? I have learned that domestic violence is very non-rare. I say that because 98.3% of students have answered the dateing domestic violence quizzes, which proofs that this is happening to teens but they just dont report it. I have also learned that in 1994-1995 domestic violence was estmated ay about 12% - 20%.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? I will most likely remember what I have learned and it will stay with me. I dont really want to be a film maker when i get older but i want to be a lawyer so it will most likely stay with me.

Like when we learned about the different camera angles and what the real film makers use to create their films. Also the rules and guidelines and how to prevent such thing like pladgerism.
3. What have you learned about your topic? Some disturbing facts about the dogs and cats in the humane society, but I got to say i've found a lot of info and most of it is sad. Like how many dogs per year are killed in the humane society and how many are rescued and the number killed is much higher than the ones that are saved.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? Yes because i'm learning the finer points of film making. So if I do film making in high school than I will be a step ahead of everyone. I will also know the rules so I will not run into trouble early. Also all the information I learned in the humane society kind of makes me want to join and help out the humane society.
. What have you learned so far in this class? I have learned how to make a video. It is a lot of work making a movie and ours are only 3 to 5 minutes. thire are alot of roles to makeing a movie like purdusure, directoir, and costume disigner.
2. What have you learned about film-making? I have learned that it's alot of hard work to make a movie. Their are roles and information on documenteries and we only have to film for 3 to 5 minutes.
3. What have you learned about your topic? I learned that the war in iraq, that the the people in iraq dont want us there. sence 9/11 the terrorist ataccts have increaced by 600 percent.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? I think that the war will have a long lasting affect because thier have been miilions of dollers lost, and that all of those soildiers have given their lives for us.
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
I have learned to type faster and more accurate. I have also learned that there are many different camera angles. one thing that I have learned that I did not know before is that there are many different steps to creating and putting together a movie. I think i've also learned to work in a group better that before.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
I'v learned that there are many steps in the prosses of making a good film. Another thing i've learned would be that there is a lot of reaserch put into doing a movie. some more things would be that the story board lays out the format of the movie. Also that the scipt is very important.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
Some things I have learned about my topic is that the war is a serious thing. Also that we are spending too much money in Iraq.
I learened also that many troops are being injered every day.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
Yes i think it will have an lasting affect on me because the facts make you relize even more than before that the wae is a serious topic.
1. What have you learned so far in this class? i have learnd that it isn't just press record and start filming it. Its about working with your team and helping out, expressing your ideas in away u might never get to exprence again. I would say i have learned alot one thing i learnd was there are different camra shots and different angles that make a movie.
u have to write a scriped so people know what they are saying. I never new how much work was put in to movie making but now i know.
2. What have you learned about film-making? i have learnd that u have to work at it u can't just film a movie you have to right a sciped. you have to get actors. filming people that role the camras. that is what i have learnd about vido prduction.Team work is wow i can't even say that i think is the biggest part in this if u can't work with others and share a grade you probley can't do this prject.
3. What have you learned about your topic? my topic is about the war in iraq it is a very tochy topic it can get alittle well you know. Facts about my topic are something i never new until we said that we were going to do it. thinking about how are families are involed and how parents a involed but where are the kids this is our country too and if it is ruled be other people then when do we get exprss our feeling and thoughts.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you? I can say that i will rember this class being a good topic. what we do in here is the most amazing stuff that i learn. i still remember what i did in 6th grade. this evet that we are doing is the best all of my three years that i have been at highlanderway middle school.
An i will never forget it
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
I have learned how to be a better tipper from this class. What I have also learned is how to make some good slide show in Microsoft power point. Something’s I would like to learn are how to make some movies on the computer.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
I have learned how to operate a camera. I also learned how hard it is to finish the film-making but at the end it is all good.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
My topic has been vary interesting I haven’t learned anything new accept that animal testing has bad affects well on animals. I think that we should have done a different topic about hurricanes and what the affects of the hurricanes have done to the towns of Florida.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
No. I don’t think that this will have a long-lasting effect on me because I have learned most of which from all the years I have been coming to this class. I haven’t learned anything else about film-making and I learned most of my topic that are group is doing for this project.
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
I have learned a lot in this class so far. I have leaned about different film angles and how they make a movie better. I have leaned that you have to put a lot of time into planning a movie. I is really important to work together with your group. I have leaned how complicated making a movie is.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
Film-making is really complicated. A lot goes in to making a movie. You have to do major planning before you start. Different people have different jobs, but you all have to work together to make a film work out. You have to know a lot about your topic. Film-making is really fun too.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
My topic is photosynthesis. I have learned that green plants get food from the sunlight. They take in carbon dioxide and they breath out oxygen. They get water by sucking it up through their roots. The process in which plants get food is complicated, but interesting.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
I think that what I am learning about film-making will stay with me all my life. I will remember making a movie and how much work had to be put into it. I will also remember how much fun it was. I think I will always remember this class and it might help me later on. This class has been really fun and I hope our movies turn out well.
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
In this class i have learned more about typing. I have learned how to work in more groups with people i dont know or dont very much like. I have learned how to make short movies and how to be a revisor for other peoples movies.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
I never ues a vidoe camera, so what I have learned the most about film making is how to use a cammera. I have learned numerous video shots and how and when to use them. I have also learned how do wright a screenplay or script.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
In my group we are doing the question "how do plants eat". When we started I actually did not know. I learned about photosynthesis and what is does. I also learned how to work with a group where some of the group members i do not get along with at all.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
I deffinetly think that what I am learning will help me. I thing learning how to use a video cammera will help me when i move out and live by myself. I also think that learning how to make movies will help me if i choose to take that sort of carreer path (which i have thought of doing in the past).
1. What have you learned so far in this class?
I have learned so much in this technology class. Some of my favorite things that I have learned about are, how to start making videos. I think that this was a great idea for you to bring this into Highlander way. It's really unique. If it wasn't for Mrs. Colburn, I wouldn't know how to use a Video camera, and I probably wouldn't be interested in using one. Now I'm really intrested in making videos. I've been in this class since my 6th grade year, and this class has helped me so much. I now know the home row, and where all the letters, numbers and symbols are on the key board. I feel that this class has taught me to type with accuracy, and a descent speed.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
Wow! Film-making is so much fun right now. I've learned so much about it. With film- making you can't just get something on camera and call it a film. That's not creative at all. When using the cameras, I've learned how to opperate them. I've also learned how to do the different scenes, and video shots. I think that while your video taping it's a good idea to use these different video shots, because it gives your video some Action, and not just some boring film that's always on the same shot.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
Well, my topic is on the Death penalty. And just by watching others clips about the death penalty and all the research we've done I think we have accomplished a lot. Before researching this topic I never really had a stand on the death penalty, I never really knew what it was about. Now looking at what it does, and some of the people who are or were on the death row and are innocent, I look at them and think.. " How can the United states, or any country for that matter, be that cruel to take an innocent humans life?"
Even if they weren't innocent does it make us feel better by killing that person who killed our loved one? Now that I have done this reaserach on the Death penalty, I am 100 % against it.

1. What have you learned so far in this class?
I have learned that correctly typing and stricking the keys are important. If you do not put your hands on the home keys, you will only make it harder for yourself. You can have serious problems with typing when you get older if you do not do it the right way now. When you get problems with your joints in your fingers, you won't want to move them as much. By putting your fingers on the home keys, you will likley have less problems with typing when you are older.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
I have learned very important things about film making. It isn't just pressing the record buttton and just playing out how ever it goes. You need to have certain things before you get started. You need actors, editors, writers, music, etc. Those things would and will make a big improvment on your film.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
I have learned a lot from researching steroids. I have learned that more and more teens are taking steroids. That is some of what i have learned.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
I believe this will have a long lasting effect on me. I learned through all the articles I have read that getting buff isn't worth what will happen to you in later life. Some of old steriod users now have heart and liver problems. I do not want to have a heart transplant when I am older. That is why this will have a long lasting effect on me.

You also need to have a heaethly realationship with the crew of the film or else the film won't be a great success.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
What I have learned about film-making so far is that their are many differnt keys to filming a movie. First, you must decide on what kind of movie you are going to do such as film for a cause, reasearch, or just a movie that is a comedy. Then, you have to decide on what your topic is. Next, you must make an outline of the story. Then, you must figure out the actors and the dressing. Then practice and film.

I have learned a few things in this class. So far we've learned about the traits of a good film, the importance of being specific in your scripts and being clear in words and body language. Traits of a good film include good lighting, only being able to hear what you're supposed to hear and only seeing what you're supposed to see. We've also learned about camera angles and shots. These are all important in a good film.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
I have learned all the things a film is supposed to have. Things like different camera angles and clarity. It definetly makes it more interesting if you can understand the film. I've also learned how important it is to have good lighting and having everything besides the film quiet. Also how you should only be able to see what you're supposed to see. All these make a good film.
3. What have you learned about your topic?
My topic is steroids. I learned that the number of teens taking steroids has increased in the last 10 years. This is bad because most people don't realize how many negative side effects there are. I've learned that steroids can cause girls to get masculine traits and boys to get feminine traits. This has been an educatioinal topic for me.
4. Do you think what you are learning will have a long-lasting effect on you?
I think it will have a long-lasting effect on me. I think this because I never really knew what negative things steroids could really do to you. I also didn't know that the number teens taking them grew. It was hard to hear the stories of the people who killed themselves because of steroids too. Therefore, I believe this will have a long-lasting effect on me.

It doesn’t matter how slowly or fast you are just as you can type accurately. The thing that I have learned about film making is that you should have everything planned out before you start to film. You should also have a setting and where it is going to take place picked out also. I learned that in order to make a movie or film better you should use different camera angles. I also learned the names of those angles also. I also learned that it is important that the movies flows through and doesn’t skip around to go from one part of the film to another. So to say it stays in line.

Yes, I think what I am learning will have a long time effect one me because if there is ever a nuclear missiles that goes off where I am at that point then will know the effects of it and maybe if needed then I can get away. I will also be able to give my opinion if anyone ever needed to ask me. I learned a lot about the missiles that I didn’t know before. 1. What have you learned so far in this class?
I've learned how to make a movie. All the angle shot's are hard to learn, but if you know them all, and how they could be used, it would make a great movie, with also, time and effort put into it. I never knew it would take so much time to find just facts about a topic, but then also create the movie. I didn't know we had to have great teamwork either to do a great job. making movies may be hard, but it's worth while.
2. What have you learned about film-making?
Before, I've heard it takes almost four years to make some movies, and i never believed it. Now i know why it takes so long. Learning all the angle-shots takes time, you don't just learn them all over night, then putting them in your movie, isnt so easy either. I've learned that it takes a lot of thought and time to create a movie, and you need to be comitted to it if you want it to do great.

My topic is about the HIV/AIDS crisis. Everyone knows something about HIV/AIDS, like they know people die, and how you can get it.
But not everyone knows all the facts. Do you think everyone knows someone dies every 13 seconds from AIDS? Do you think everyone knows every 9 seconds someone gets affected with HIV?
