1. When someone says “technology” what do you think of? Why?
When someone says “technology” I think of and technical things. I think of how much technology has advanced over the past few years. The main thing I think of tough is computers because computers are very technical and a big part of technology. I think of all these things because when people say the word technology they give examples like computers, ipods and televisions. Technology is really helping the world today. That is what I think of when people say technology.
2. What is your favorite technology “toy”? How do you use this technology?
My favorite technology toy is probably my cell phone. This is because my cell phone can let me do many things, like texting, playing games and calling my friends. I mainly use my cell phone to text my friends. It gives me an easy and fast way to communicate with them. I probably spend an hour a day text messaging. I know it isn’t that good for you to always be text messaging, but it is very entertaining and make kids have more fun these days. That is my favorite technology toy.
3. How does technology help you now and how do you think it will help you in the future?
I think technology helps me now because it gives me an easier way to talk with my friends and it gives me basically any of the information I need. Technology is very advanced these days and if I forgot to bring my social studies book home I can just use technology (the computer) to get the information I need. It also helps me to listen to the music I want to anywhere I go. In the olden days they wouldn’t be able to do that because they didn’t invent ipods yet. I think that it will also help us in the future because medical things like machines they use are getting better. This means that they will probably be able to save a ton more lives in the future with the great technology they will hopefully have. Also it will help us in the future because you never know what kind of inventions they will make that make things we wouldt think of A LOT easier. That is how technology will help us in the future and right now.
4. Do you think that technology changes to fast or at just the right pace?
I think for some things it moves just at the right pace and some things it moves to fast. I think the computers and how well they keep getting is moving at a perfect pace. It isn’t to fast or it isn’t to slow. However, I think the making of ipods is moveing to fast because they keep amking newer and newer and newer ones, people cant keep up with it. To put it in easier words, people cant keep buying new ones it will be too expensize. Maybe they should slow that down so people wont get stuck with the old ipods. That is what I think about the rate technology is being made.
5. Is it easy for you to keep up with technology changes or diffucult? Explain.
I think it is easy for me to keep up with the technology change. It is easy because I am not the type of person that always has to have the new ipod or the new cmarea, things like that. I am basicly fine with what I have as long as it works. I mean it would be nice if I had a new phone or something, but I am fine with the phone I have just as long as I have one. I like the technology, but I know I cant get it all. That is why it is easy for me.

1.When someone says technology, I think of electroics. Like for example cell phones. Or like I’m doing right now, on the computer. And also how I all ways watch tv when I get home from school. So that’s what I think when someone says technology.
2. I like a lot of technology toys. But one of my favorite technology toys is my computer. I like my computer the most. Cause I like playing the games on there. Also I like listen to the music that is on there. So that’s my favorite technology toy.
3. Technology you now and can change in the future. Is that it can help you study. Also can get you a job. And also you can go to school on it. So that’s how technology can help you now and in the future.
4. I my opion I think tech changes at the right pace. Tech changes at the right pace by not going to fast or slow. So I can’t think of nothing else to say. So that was my opion about tech changes at a too fast or just right pace.

WEEK ONE DISCUSSION ANSWERS
1. When someone says the word “technology” I think of using the internet. That is mostly what I do on the computer, other than type essays for English. (but that is not fun!) I like to surf the web for information about what the celebrities are doing. My favorite website is the Hayden Panettiere fan club website. I spend a lot of time on the computer, so technology is important in my life.
2. I would have to say that my favorite technology toy is a digital camera. I take pictures all the time. My family knows that I take a camera with me every where I go. I would bring it to school if I could, but I don’t want it taken away by any of the HWMS staff. I think that pictures are a symbol of capturing a moment so that when you look at a picture for an exciting activity you can go back to that place and re-live that moment all over again.
3.The main things that I use computers for is looking up information on the internet, typing essays for school, emailing/instant messaging my friends and playing games. In the future I hope that technology will help me become more organized. My favorite game on my computer is regular solitaire. My friends and I go on AIM all the time. We can talk for hours without stopping.
5. I think that technology changes at just the right speed. I know that when I get a new “toy” I always need something else for it or I am going to want to upgrade it. For example let’s take the new ipod products. Last year the regular ipods were popular. Now they came out with the new ipod nano and the ipod shuffle.
6. It is easy for me to keep up with technology because I use it every day. Also, I do a lot with it. My life sort of depends on it. As I said, I am on it every day. My computer is the main attraction you could say in my room. I have had it for so long that if I got rid of it I would have nothing to interest me. Technology keeps me out of trouble and lets me do something worth doing.

When I here the word “technology” I think of technical objects. Technology can be computers or even cell phones, anything that has to do with things that are high tech. Also they have to do with wiring. Technology can be anything, it could be new and very high tech or old with less high tech. That’s what I think of when I hear technology.

My favorite technology toy would have to be my computer. A computer is my favorite technology toy because you can do so many things on it. For example, you could e-mail, Instant message, play games, or even listen to music. Also another one of my favorite technology toys would be my cell phone. I use it to call or text message my friends.

Technology helps me now by helping me with my Homework. I can go one the computer and type an essay or research a topic. Also I think technology can help me in my future by helping me at my job. At my job I could be using the computer, also it could be used in my house. Technology in my house could be making it secure by wiring it or putting cameras in it.

I think technology changes too fast. I think this because sometimes someone buys something and the next day they have something new and better. Companies change the new thing all the time. I think it is difficult for me to keep up with technology changes. I am very busy with sports that I don’t have time to look up what’s new in technology. In my house and life I don’t use a lot of technology to keep up with it. Sometimes changing things to fast can get people confused, it confuses me a lot. Whenever someone says technology, I usually think of, computers. Then I think of wires to hook up the computer. I think of these two things because, on a lot of television shows you see how people use technology, with lots of wires. I some time will think of myself on the computer. Technology helps me with stuff like projects to do. It also helps me with, to no be bored so that I can play games. Also I can listen to music to not to be bored. I think that technology is moving fast but also just at the right pace at the same time. I say this because, laptops and computers are good. So are cell phones. But not like the “I-Phone.” I think the I-phone has a lot of technology in it, and it has too much of it, like the email and internet and music shouldn’t be on a cell phone, I think that on a cell phone you should just be able to call people. To have music, that’s why we have televisions, radios, MP3 players, I pods’ ect.
5. Is it easy for you to keep up with technology changes or difficult?
Explain?
I think that it is easy to keep up with technology. But, it can also be hard to keep up with technology. I say this because, computers and laptops are good. But the I-Phone has too much technology and it costs a lot of money for that much technology. I also think that it is a pain to have that much technology in your hands, and what if you lost the I-Phone, I think that if you got something with a lot of technology, you would be throwing your money away. Unless you got a good computer and a good cell phone or something like that.

X-box because I can play games on the X-box. I use it to play games. There is a controller that goes to the X-box. I use the controller to move and fight and other stuff in the game I’m playing.

Technology helps me learn in school right now. Technology helps me communicate with my parents from school. Technology helps me at home so I’m not bored all the time. And technology helps me let my dad sleep. In the future I think technology will help me when I have to do something for work and I need some technology to do what I need to do.
4. Do you think that technology changes too fast or at just the right pace?
I think technology is going to fast. I think technology is going to fast because the new X-box comes out and the stores don’t sell very much stuff for the X-box you have. People might not have enough money to buy the new X-box or whatever the new thing is. And if technology advanced any faster I don’t think anybody could buy the new stuff. The places that manufacture the technology need to stop advancing so fast.
5. Is it easy for you to keep up with technology changes or difficult? Explain?
It is hard for me to keep up with technology. It is hard for me to keep up with technology because my family is running out of money. The technology is advancing so fast I don’t know how so many people can afford all this new technology. When a new technology item is just put in stores it cost a lot of money. I don’t know how many people can afford it when it just comes out.

When someone says technology, I think of computers. I think of computers mostly because I think of like, futuristic and technology items like computers, iPod’s, cell phones, stuff like that. Also because classes that I call “woodshop”, the real name is Applied Technology or even this class, which I call Tech Lit., the real name is Technology Literacy. My parents also use technology as a term for anything like their cell phones, laptops, and iPods. So, I am around the word Technology a lot. I also use it a lot in my daily life, like chatting with my friends or even doing a homework assignment.
My favorite technology “toy” is my iPod. I use this almost everyday, because I love to listen to music or even play games. I bring my iPod on the bus, on long trips, and even short trips like to the store because I plug it in to my mom’s car and play my favorite song on repeat. While I’m on the bus, I share the earphones with friends, and sometimes even just use it for myself to relax after a hectic day at school. I have a lot of my favorite songs on my favorite technology toy! In total, I have 786 songs!
Technology helps me now by helping me on homework, huge assignments, and even just for fun. My computer helps me on homework assignments and big projects a ton. I use Microsoft programs to create the best project ever. I can also use clip art to get already-made pictures and paste them onto my page, then use my printer to print the page out. I usually play the Sims 2 or other downloadable games after I finish my homework. My favorite thing to do is go on AIM, which is an Instant Messenger program where you create screen names, and chat with friends all over. That’s how I stay in touch with my friends back in my hometown of Soda Springs, Idaho.
I think that it changes a little fast. For example, one day you see the new iPod nano, and then the next day you see that Apple, the iPod creator, has combined an iPod nano and an iPod video to create a whole new version of iPod. Another example is that one day they have some new Ford car, and then only a month later, Ford and Apple have combined to create a car that you can plug your iPod into and listen to your favorite songs. Also, Microsoft and Ford combine two months later to create a voice-activating car that responds to your voice, like if you tell it to call your home; it calls from your car.
It is easy for me to keep up with all the technology changes. I know a lot about technology, mainly because I have an old computer in my room that I mess around with and explore all the different things about it. That’s how I learn most of the stuff I know about computers. I also watch TV a lot, so I see commercials for new electronics and technology items. My daddy works for Apple out in California, and so he has a lot of their new stuff life iPod’s and iPhone. My parents are divorced, so that’s how my dad lives in California. I play around with all of his gadgets, if you would call them that, to find out more about them. I am extremely interested in technology, but not so much that I am kept up with every single item that comes out.

1. When someone says the word technology it makes me think of computers. I think of computers because it is the main part of technology. Using the computers is the main part because if you didn’t have computers technology wouldn’t be that great. Also using computers let you see everything instead of reading it in a book. That’s why I think of computers when someone says technology.
2. My favorite technology toy is the head phones. When using the head phone it lets you listen to what you’re doing. If you use speakers it could bother someone around you. That would bother me. That’s why I like head phones.
3. Technology helps me because it lets me look up things I need to know. Like when I’m doing my homework I can look up how to do the problem if I get stuck. In the future I want to be a doctor and while I’m in school I need to type papers so I will have to use the computer. A computer is a very useful piece of technology. That’s why it helps.
4. I think technology changes to fast because a new cell phone comes out every day. If you try to get the newest cell phone you will get one everyday. It is kind of crazy. They should just make one ever so often. They should slow down with the technology.
5. Difficult because there is so much to know. If you didn’t need to know so much stuff it would be a lot easier. Like a computer is fine but all those crazy blackberry cell phones are too much. If it was just a regular technology it would be easier. Not the fancy stuff.

When someone says technology I think of my cell phone or computer. I think of my cell phone because I think of talking to my friends, my friends mean a lot to me I thing of them a lot like Cayman, Rachel, Adrian, or maybe Greg. Also I think of computers when someone says technology because I think of me playing on the computer. I might be talking to my friends or looking up something or playing a game on the computer. That is what I think of when someone says technology.
Question #2 some of my favorite toys are cell phones. The reason for that is because I like to talk and make planes with my friend and I like a phone that I can show off and call it mine. Another toy I like is PS2’s.I like them because there is so many games you can play. Your can play any game you want. That is some of my favorite toys.
Question #3 Cell phones are good technology that will help you now if you if you get into a car wreck or something happen and you need someone to come pick u up. Another good technology that helps you is cars. They help you maybe if you need to go some were far and you need to get there fast you can use a car. Or maybe if it is raining out side and you don’t want to walk in the rain you can drive and not walk. Those are two good technology items that help you out.
Question #4 I think technology changes just at the right pace. I think that because if it went any slower it would hurt our economy and we would lose money and lose our trade or our immigrants because use less would come into the u.s.a. also if it went any slower some people that own companies that sell this stuff are going to get slow down. I believe if it was too slow that some people would have a hard time. That is what I think about the speed of the technology.

I think about computers because of the advances in everyday life because of the things that computers can do. You could check your email or watch a movie, even make videos and send it to your friends. The computer is a amazing thing. I like to watch videos or look at things I might want. And with Christmas coming around the corner that is a good thing to do.

1. What do I think of when someone says technology? When someone says technology I think of computers, cords, and bundles of wire. I think of those things I think because of the TV shows and games I used to watch. Like on those kid shows they will have a mechanic with all the tools. Also, the video games I used to play had plummers in them, and he always had all that equipment. That is what I think of when some says technology.
2. My favoiret technology toy is either a computer or a video game system. I youse a video game system to have fun and play games. I use a computer to make cartoons, check daily updates, and to have fun. I also use those two things to have fun with friends. Those are my favoiret technology toys.
3. Technology helps me in meny ways. Some of those ways are getting tasks done on the computer. It helps because it makes things go a lot faster. I think I will use tcnology in the futer for the same things I do now, having fun, and getting tasks done. That is how technology helps me.
4. Tecnology is always changing. I think it is going at the right pase. I do not think it is going to fast or to slow. I do not think that because when something new comes out you buy it, then by time the next thing comes out you are done with the previouse thing and ready for the next thing. Because it is wireless and the whole “your own network connection” and the fact that you can be on the Internet anywhere you go, it seems to be one of the most complicated systems that we are supposed to be able figure out on our own. Technology to me means complication.

My favorite technology “toy” would be the cell phone. This is my favorite because I, although I don’t use it as much as my friends, think it’s fascinating, with all the internet connection and the e-mail/instant messaging servers they have built in nowadays. I think it’s cool that you don’t have to be waiting around your house for an important phone call, or having to be at home to make a call. I use this technology to call people, take calls, play games when I’m bored, and listen to music that I downloaded.]

Technology helps me now in a lot of ways. I don’t have to open most doors, now they have the automatic open sliding doors. In bathrooms they have motion-activated sinks, soap, paper towel dispensers, and blow-dryers. I don’t have to wait around my house for an important call from my friend. I can call my mom to pick me up if we end practice at theatre early. I don’t have to hand-write most important assignments. We don’t have to use candles, horse wagons, huge wall-sized computers, letters, or even postcards. All this is an “upgrade” in Technology! In the future I can expect flying, automated, voice-activated cars! Technology will help us in many ways.

I think that technology changes at just the right pace. Older people might not think this, though, because the elderly can’t deal with change as well as the younger generation. I still think this, though, because we keep coming out with new and better ideas to help make the world easier and a better place. Technology is helping the world, not destroying it. 1. When someone says technology I think of the latest and greatest entertainment. There is always new, more advanced technology to improve our entertainment world. We look back and think that we have the newest and best item but they always come out with more high-tech versions of the item. For example, the old rectangular I-pods looked like they were so advanced but then they came out with the square I-pod nano's. Some “modern day technology” that we use is televisions, computer, mp3 players and much more.

4. I think that technology changes to fast because we take more from that earth than we should. When a new product comes out everyone wants it and they have to make more, even when sales are up they make a new product instead of letting the old product die out in the charts. When I got my I-pod last year I thought that it was the coolest and most high tech, but this year they came out with a new pastel color of I-pod. This does not help our environment or the average person’s money. With all of these temptations that they want to buy their family suffers.

1. When someone says technology I think of the latest and greatest entertainment. There is always new, more advanced technology to improve our entertainment world. We look back and think that we have the newest and best item but they always come out with more high-tech versions of the item. For example, the old rectangular I-pods looked like they were so advanced but then they came out with the square I-pod nano's. Some “modern day technology” that we use is televisions, computer, mp3 players and much more.
2. My favorite technology toy is the computer. The main reason that I like the computer is because you can play games and go on interesting websites. My favorite website is www.girlsense.com because I love to design clothes. The computer can be used for more than fun; it can also be used for businesses. There are also many brain stimulating games such as solitaire and FreeCell.

If my mom and dad are watching a show and my brother is using the other TV I can access shows on the internet. I also think of scientists working to find “modern technology.” I think of these things because I know that people always use the words modern technology. Also I know that technology is things like computers and smart boards etc. Any person could come to mind when thinking of technology.
2. My favorite technology toy is probably the computer. There are so many possible things that you can do with a computer. I mostly use the computer for my home work. Other times I use it for my I tunes, or for looking stuff up on Google. There are also many things that you can load onto the computer. Stuff like Microsoft publisher, word, excel and more.
3. Technology helps me because I can do so much stuff and I don’t need help with it. Also if my dad’s taking over the TV then I can watch it down stairs. Plus I can listen to music. Technology will help me in the future because I want to be either a teacher or a homeopathic vet. Either one of those two career choices will need a computer to help.
4. I think that the technology changes a little too fast. It should be a little less fast. The problem is, is that there are so many possible brands of technology producers that the market gets completely over done. I think that the brands are great but they just have so many grand ideas that it’s hard to keep up with it all. Plus some of this technology is polluting the earth in a way so all the technology is coming to fast for earth to handle.
5. It is pretty easy for me to keep up with the technology changes. I have a TV and a computer. If I wanted I could watch TV to see what is new. I could also go online to see what’s new in the selling business. Some things that are new don’t get put on the TV so that’s why the computer works. Visa versa.

When someone says technology I think of computers and all of the gadgets inside them. I think of being in school on the computers doing projects. I also think of being at home on the computer and being myspace and aim. One more think I think of is using my cell phone to talk or text my friends. I think of these things because that’s what I like doing most of the time.

My favorite technology toy is defiantly the computer. The computer is my favorite toy because I love to talk to my friends on it. I also like it because it makes it easier to do some of my homework and projects. I also think that the computer is helpful because you can look up words without having to go through the trouble of looking through several pages of the dictionary to find the words. One more reason I like the computer is because I use it almost everyday.

Technology helps me now by making righting easier because you can type instead. It also helps me talk to my friends easier. It also helps me get some projects and homework done faster. I think the computer might help me in the future bye staying in contact with friends and family. If they had the technology it could maybe help people be transported from one place to another.

I think that technology changes at just the right pace. I think this because people like using it. Whenever a new device comes out people get excited. So when they buy it the sellers get happy too because they bring in a lot of money. So when they know people like new things they will keep making more to make them happy. It is mainly easy for me to keep up with technology changes. Whenever I get a new phone it might take me a little less than a day to get used to the new abilities. Also when a often used website makes changes I can adapt to them pretty well. I have also learned to text message on my phone. At first texting was hard for me but now I am pretty fast at it. And the same thing with typing I have gotten better and better at it over the years.

There are many things that are technology and I think of many of them when someone says technology.. I also think of a light bulb or a TV because of the cords and plugs and little wires. I like technology and it is very useful so the word technology comes up at least once or twice a day everyday
2. My favorite technology toy would probably be a cell phone because it is very useful and fun. I like cell phones because I use them every day to call my friends, to text and take pictures. My cell phone has tools on it such as a camera, calculator, phonebook, alarm, calendar and a world map. I can use it pretty much any where because it has no cord. I use it to check the time if I’m not by a clock or I forget the date I can check it.
3. Technology helps me a lot in many different ways because if I am bored I can play a video game or watch TV. If I have to write a paper for one of my classes I can type it and print it out. On the program I type it on has a dictionary and can correct my errors and spelling mistakes. Cell phones help me because if need to call someone out in the street then I use my cell phone instead of looking for a pay phone and paying. It will help me in the future because the technology will be advanced and have many new inventions such as maybe a robot to do tasks.
4. I think technology changes at just the right pace because there are many new kinds of technology that help us everyday and makes many tasks easier. Such as if you’re writing an essay for school and you spell something wrong then the computer can correct it. So if someone has a program on TV such as DVR that records programs with out a tape or CD I can figure out how to use if without using a manual. My favorite technology toy is the internet. I use the internet for everything. To look things up on Google for something related to school. Or just for fun to go on myspace.
It’s my favorite because I usually use a computer everyday.

Technology helps me now in everyday things. Like getting a report done for school. I think technology will help not just me in the future but everyone. Lots of jobs or shutting down. And many people fine online jobs that suit them better.

My favorite technology toy is the computer. I love the computer. To me the computer is the most useful of all technology. You can see what the weather will be like, you can play games, and you can do a lot of research. Another good thing about the computer is that you can type instead of writing. Typing is a lot faster than writing to a lot of people.
3. How does technology help you now and how do you think it will help you in the future?
I think technology helps me the most with school. I can study on the computer; I can e-mail my teachers to ask a question. I think in the future technology will be way more advanced than it is now. I think they will make studding easer and they might have an online school. I can’t wait to find out.

I think this is true because as soon as you get a new computer there is a better one that comes out. I think that gamming systems are going at the right pase. I think that it is okay to have 2-3 new gamming systems a year. I think that they need to slow down on computers to about 4-5 new ones every year.

When someone says technology I think of the iPhone. I think of it because it is one of the newest advances in technology. I also think how modern technology has come from irrigation to cell phones and iPods. I think that technology is many different things from computers to air planes. The internet is also a relatively new device in technology.

My favorite technology toy is my iPod. I use it to download music and videos. It can also be used for games and music videos. There are many things you can use with an iPod like speakers and the computer. Another one of my favorite toys is my laptop. I use it mostly for surfing the internet and instant messaging my friends.
3. How does technology help you now and how do you think it will help you in the future? Technology helps us by making our everyday life easier. One thing is we have automatic door openers. It makes it easier because there is no labor to do a simple thing like putting your car in the garage. Another thing that technology made easier is phones. With phones you can talk to anyone with out getting in your car.

I think technology is moving at the right pace. An example is the iPods a new version comes out every year in time for Christmas. Some other things took a long time to change like get cars in the U.S.A. In other countries most people still don’t have cars. It was a very short time between computers and laptops.

I also think of computers because now in our time we can have computers in our phones and in our lap, and besides we call them technology toys .One last reason I think of computers is because I use one everyday at my house for all kinds of things.
2. My favorite technology toy is the phone. It is my favorite technology toy because it makes a lot of things in life easier. One way it makes our life easier is when we want to talk to someone that lives far away then we can without leaving our house . Another way that it makes life easier is by when we want to hangout with our friends. We can call their house and make sure that they are there before you go over there. One final reason that my favorite technology toy is the phone; it is my favorite because it is really cool how you can have the internet in your own hand.
3. Technology helps us now in a lot of ways. One is that it can be a help in reminding us to do stuff like if we need to call someone. A phone can tell you that you need to call them. 2) Probably my favorite ‘tech toy’ is I pods or cell phones. I use I pods to listen to music while I skateboard and to calm down. I use cell phones to call my friends and to be able to talk wirelessly. Cell phones are useful when you need them. Those are my favorite tech toys
3) Technology helps me know more about computers and how to use them. I think that technology will end up giving me opportunities for good jobs. I will get a better job by knowing about technology and the things about it. That is why I think I will get a good job. That’s how technology helps me.

1. When you say technology I think of my dad. I think of my dad because he works at a robotics company called Kawasaki robotics. Kawasaki works on programming robots. They also have a close relationship with ford manufacturing.
2. My favorite technology toy is the robo Saipan. I control it with a remote. The robo Saipan can walk talk and that stuff. I use the robo Saipan to scare my two year old brother & my four month old brother. The robo Saipan is an android.
3. Technology helps me now by cooking my food, heating the house, & making our transportation. I think that technology will help us do the same things tomorrow in healthier & more efficient ways. I have no idea how the people at the so called mythical area 51 will revolutionize the world but I don’t think it will be much different. I don’t really care that much.
4. I think that technology is changing at the right pace, but needs to go faster. I think that because we need more things than we have. We should advance faster and get better vaccines & medicines than we have today. We put to much electronics into toys then medical on the other hand is a smaller robotics section when it should be a bigger one.
